Romans 8:18-25
(18) I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (19) For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. (20) For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope (21) that the creation itself will be liberated from it’s bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
(22) We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. (23) Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. (24) For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? (25) But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

I opened up my bible tonight and read this passage from Romans and these are my thoughts from it. Sorry if it’s out of context, I just opened it up and started reading. I really wish I had more time to elaborate and get into it.
My thoughts
” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us”
I take this to mean after death. I could see being the glory revealed in us after being saved or “re-saved”
– They are not even worth comparing with out present sufferings! This goes to show that we have no idea what heaven will be like or for that fact the new and coming restoration of God’s kingdom. We really cannot fathom what is to come.
-Whatever you are going through, just remember that it is temporary and before you know it, you be forever in glory with Christ.
– As verse 24 starts says, this is the hope that we are saved. I thank God that I can live with that hope and that I have been for a few years now
“(21) that the creation itself will be liberated from it’s bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”
– Even creation longs in anticipation for the heavens and the earth to be restored! We as Christians and as humans in general I think need to remember just a little bit more that this life is not the end. We forget that this earth is in decay, not just physically but morally.
” (23) Groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for out adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. “
– As verse 24 starts says, this is the hope that we are saved. I thank God that I can live with that hope and that I have been for a few years now.
“(24) But hope that is seen is no hope at all.”
-Without hope in this life, I don’t think any of us would ever “make it” through this life
” (25) But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently”
– Stay firm and keep the faith. Amidst this world and all of the calamity, it is easy to look forward to heaven and step into future glory. But we for it patiently because we are not yet ready. There is plenty of work to be done here on this earth before we leave.
